Little Dogs Need To Be Walked Often

by Greg Cryns

Tiny dogs have the same needs as big dogs.

One of those needs is frequent walks.

They need to get out and see the world as often as possible.

They need a a lot of exercise to stay trim and fit. Don't think that simply putting them out in the back yard is sufficient for exercise.

My three dogs get very excited when I take them all out at the same time. My mixed chihuahua starts to jump about two feet into the air when I get out the leashes. My chihuahua starts to yap, yap, yap. My mixed lab starts to pant heavily with excitement.

I am always careful to make sure I don't step on my small chihuahua, Tiki, when walking. She tends to walk directly in front of me so I usually shorten her leash to keep her by my side.
